WORKING IN SCHOOLS

We run a schools boxing program, working with targeted students, after school clubs, girls only sessions.

Our programme concentrates on the fundamentals of boxing, giving the students a sense of achievement, whilst taking away new skills such as teamwork, listening, leadership, resilience, relationship building, and confidence, implementing sports psychology to help with these.

We work with students in this way, to give them some focus and to open up about their mental health. The end goal is to re-engage them back into mainstream education, improve confidence, improve attendance, & feel supported to succeed in and out of school.

We work with Maltby and Dinnington Academy 4 days per week running a mix of box champions program and boxing for mainstream students, helping with physical and mental wellbeing and giving students an opportunity to work with us and try boxing

Our Empire Fighting chance’ endorsed Box Champions program helps our young people learn evidence-based personal development principles that help them understand the nature of the mind and normalise feelings they may be experiencing. Combining non-contact boxing training with psychology-informed mentoring to create impactful and enjoyable sessions.

It equips them with the skills to manage emotions, behaviours, and situations and give them the tools to reach their goals, whether that’s getting back into class, passing exams, preparing for school transition, building relationships or just becoming more confident in their communities

OUR IMPACT

In the financial year 2022/23 DC Boxing worked with over 360 young people in Dinnington and the surrounding area through our Junior/Teen boxing classes and our school programs. This has made a real positive impact in the communities for our young people and families.
